Job Description

PCG is seeking an experienced Corporate Counsel for its Corporate Legal operations based in Lenexa, Kansas. This individual will:

Serve as the primary legal contact for company branches nationwide;  Be the primary interface with, and manage outside counsel on all matters of litigation or regulatory compliance;  Oversee and execute legal duties relating but not limited to joint ventures, claims, mitigation of risk, government contracts and other day to day legal items; Draft, review, interpret and negotiate a wide range of contracts and agreements including subcontracts, purchase orders, master contracts, non-disclosure agreements and non-compete agreements; Review and improve standard contract templates and identify areas of continuous improvement for the contract management process and other company processes; Counsel company branches on legal implications of commercial and operational matters in order and provide legal advice that aligns with company’s goals; Develop, implement and present training programs for operations and corporate personnel on risk mitigation, contract management, and regulatory compliance;  Performing records and legal research; Work in conjunction with various internal departments to identify and address legal and business issues; and Perform additional tasks as requested by the General Counsel.  Requirements

Basic Requirements:

Juris DoctorMinimum of 7 years of experienceLicense to practice lawStrong organizational skills and ability to adapt to an evolving work environmentStrong time management skills and the ability to prioritize a workload efficentlyHigh level of emotional intelligenceStrong communication skills, both oral and writtenProven track record of being proficent in litigation and handling claimsAbility to maintain high quality work output in a dynamic work environmentAbility to work independently, efficiently and proactively on multiple projects under tight deadlines while maintaining a commitment to qualityAbility to travel up to 25%Proven track record of being a self-starter

Preferred Requirements:

Construction industry experienceFederal Compliance and/or Government Contracting experience Employment/Labor law and/or Corporate Governance experienceLocal or willing to relocate to the Kansas City Metro area
