Job Title: Corporate Finished Goods Logistics Analyst

Department: Corporate Operations Support (420)           

 

Summary of the Position:

The Corporate Finished Goods Logistics Analyst plans and executes the efficient transfer of finished goods between plant and forward warehouses. This position is responsible for maintaining proper inventory levels at forward warehouses, minimizing customer service interruptions, and mitigating obsolescent inventory.  The person in this position assists the Logistics/Transportation management with projects in maximizing/optimizing supply chain efficiencies.

Functions of the Position:  Analyzes daily inventory reports for all external facilities, production schedules & customer demand to determine transfer needs.  External facilities include but not limited to JBSS facilities, Ecommerce warehouses, and 3rd party warehousing. Enters transfers into company’s ERP (QAD) to cover customer shortages, future replenishment, and provide visibility to scheduling to assist their work order planning.     Builds, tenders, upkeeps, and tracks/traces all transfer shipments to carriers within the company’s TMS through final delivery. Balances transfer demand to maximize use of shipping and receiving warehouse resources. Uses the most cost-effective strategies when building and tendering shipments. Provides visibility to external facilities and transportation providers of what is shipping and delivering daily. Assists material managers and procurement to move packaging material and/or commodities between facilities to hit production schedules and avoid line down situations (including non-inventoried items). Acts as the main transportation point of contact for all facilities that this position oversees. Identifies, minimizes, and reports customer order shortages to Customer Solutions, Operations, Sales & Management. Reviews monthly inventory reports to identify inefficient inventory and provides disposition to sales group to meet company inventory targets and minimize expired inventory while assisting demand planning team with forecast adjustments. Serves as a supply chain resource for other departments.   

 

Qualifications:

Education, Experience, and Knowledge:   Associate/Bachelor’s degree preferred.One to four years of inventory planning, warehousing, distribution, replenishment and/or transportation/logistics in a manufacturing environment.

Skills and Competencies:

Knowledge and ability to efficiently use company’s ERP, TMS & Microsoft applications (Word, Outlook, Power point, Excel, etc).  Exceptional math aptitude skills.Good written and verbal communication skills and team attitude.Ecommerce experience preferred but not required.
