Our Corporate Learning and Development team is looking for a Learning and Development Specialist to join their team! This role would require the applicant to be able to work a hybrid schedule out of downtown Cincinnati office.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities 

Supports the design and delivery of learning solutions that develop key professional and leadership skills for employees across Great American.  Solutions include formal, informal, and on-demand learning solutions, high potential development programs, and development conferences. 

Facilitates virtual and in-person training, including planning and preparing a training event, managing the learning environment, and engaging participants in the classroom, and following up post-event to continue to support learning.       

Leverages knowledge of learning technology in design of learning solutions to create learner engagement.  Experience working with learning technology, such as LMS (ex. SumTotal), design (ex. Vyond, Storyline), or collaboration tools (Teams, Mentimeter, Miro, etc.)  

Design and develop training solutions for employees following ADDIE or similar processes.  Leads learning projects, including identification of tasks, timelines, and deliverables.  May lead the work of others (mentors, prioritizes, delegates, and reviews assignments). 

Recommends appropriate research methods to assess the effectiveness of training. Monitors and reports on the effectiveness of training.  

Researches and recommends services provided by external consultants or organizations.  Participates in negotiations and/or administering contract/service agreements.  Secures appropriate approval.  Participates in assessing the effectiveness and/or partnerships with vendors. 

Partners with senior management to assess short-term and long-term training needs for business/functional units and their employees. Engages customers in conversations to identify their needs for new/additional programs, courses, or services. 

Provides coaching to individual employees and managers related to performance, leadership, and professional development.  

Job Requirements 

Successful candidates will demonstrate previous experience in designing and implementing blended learning solutions to support employee development.  They can make connections between business needs and existing learning programs, as well as identify new solutions to support employee performance.  They have previously managed small to medium size learning projects.   

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Human Resource Development, Business, Education, Instructional Design, or related discipline.  

5 or more years of related experience.  Completion of a professional designation preferred, appropriate designations could include Professional in Human Resources (PHR), Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD) or an insurance designation. 

Instructional Design Software: Articulate, Vyond, Panopto, and Adobe preferred but not required. 

Facilitator Certification: DDI (Development Dimensions International, Inc) Facilitator Certification Process (FCP), Blanchard, Franklin Covey and Zenger Folkman preferred but not required.
