The corporate paralegal IP role assists the In-House legal department with managing the Company’s intellectual property portfolio and the day-to-day administrative affairs of the legal. This role requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to supporting a small legal team in a dynamic environment. The Paralegal role is essential in ensuring the efficient operation of True’s legal department and supporting our attorneys in delivering high-quality legal services.
ResponsibilitiesEssential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain and organize electronic patent and trademark files and Intellectual Property databases and assets.Coordinate trademark and patent application filing documents, exhibits, and powers of attorney needed with internal clients and outside counsel and act as main communication point for filing status and renewal updates. Assist with other paralegal duties such as international legal entity management and corporate recordkeeping and day-to-day law department administrative tasks such as meeting scheduling, tracking legal expenses, coordinating contract signatures, handling mail, and ordering business record certifications.Other duties may be assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.Bachelor’s degree in law or related field preferred.Paralegal certification preferred.Five or more years’ experience as an Intellectual Property focused paralegal, either in-house or with a law firm, including exposure to patent and trademark filings and managing intellectual property asset portfolios.
Experience with international organization management is a bonus.
Bilingual in Spanish or French is a plus.Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.Ability to prioritize tasks and complete assignments with minimal supervision.Strong follow through and follow-up.Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.Demonstrated focus, commitment, and ability to deliver great customer service.Proficiency in articulating, communicating professionally and appropriately with confidence at all levels and across functional lines.We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
