Team Summary
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join the Corporate Project Engineering team. The incumbent will report directly to the Sr. Director, Implementation-Operations Capital, and will lead various projects at our manufacturing facilities throughout the organization.

Essential Duties

Analyze all facets of proposed projects and provide detailed cost, schedule, and justification estimates to support capital expenditures. Interface with maintenance and production to ascertain and identify operational maintenance problems and opportunities. Conduct engineering and project analysis and follow through with major and minor project recommendations, justification and implementation.Manage all aspects of major projects including design, construction, vendor management, cost tracking, operational interfaces and operations preparation, and startup.Lead/participate in cross-functional corporate and plant teams investigating opportunities to improve and expand GAF’s processes and products, and business opportunitiesCoordinate between contractors, vendors, and GAF to manage, engineer, and implement projects in the smoothest and most efficient manner without causing production delays or upsets.Develop or assist in developing multi-year strategic plans (operational, infrastructure, and capital) across multiple plants and multiple business unitsServe as subject matter expert (SME) on corporate-wide safety, technical, project management, and/or construction management in strategic planning and plant-level investigations.Budget manager for major projects and/or strategic capital fund relative to SME

Qualifications Required

Bachelor’s Degree Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical) RequiredMinimum of 10+ Years of Experience in Project ManagementDemonstrated leadership in terms of capital project planning, development, and execution including conceptual design, detailed design, construction and installation coordination, technical training, and turnover, start-up support, and sustained ownership.Demonstrated experience in hiring/training/coaching employees and performance managementAdvanced knowledge of/experience with manufacturing analysis tools, such as statistical analysis/statistical process control (SPC), process capability studies, lean manufacturing, 5S, Six Sigma, Kepner-Tregoe, and/or Design of Experiments (DOE)Advanced knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulationsAdvanced demonstrated communications skills; written, verbal, and listening skillsAdvanced analytical skills

Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
