Corporate Reliability Manager

CAREER OPPORTUNITY:

Reporting to Senior Manager Reliability, the EMS Manager, EAM Systems provides technical support to ensure safe and environmentally sound operations with the greatest return on investment regarding quality, cost and production.  This position provides technical support to the Smurfit Westrock paper mills and extrusion plants in the USA, Canada, Brazil and India.  Travel is required.

 

 

HOW YOU WILL IMPACT WESTROCK:  

Support cultural improvement in safety, inclusion, and engagement by serving as a role model for Smurfit Westrock Vision/Values/Behaviors. Promote and follow Company and Mill safe work practices and proceduresSupport Corrugated and Consumer mill goals and guidelines.Maximize mill asset availability, efficiency, and predictability through implementation of EPAM guidelines and action plans to improve resultsOutage preparation and readiness supportManage Work Management assessment process. Assessments should be effective and provide results.  Assist mills with development of short- and long-term improvement plansCollaborate and share knowledge across all mills.   Coordinate roundtable meetings and networking calls for mill maintenance planning groups. Develop and manage maintenance and planning KPI performance metrics and systems. Utilize data to drive improvement resultsOversee master data development and optimization     Asset Hierarchy (Equipment and Components Codes/Description)Name Plate Data (Parameters)Asset CriticalityModel Work Orders (PMs/PdMs)Template work orders (Standard job plans)Auto Work Orders (Condition, Time and/or Cycles)Equipment Part List (Bill of Material)Works closely with mill Maintenance and Engineering Manager, Reliability Manager, Reliability Engineers and Planners.Partner with Regional Reliability Managers for mill support and engagement.

 

 

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED: 

Technical

B.S. Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is preferred, other is acceptable with extensive mill experience leading and supervising a high-performance reliability department.Minimum of 10 years of experience Experience within paper industry preferred.Strong computer skills in MS Office Suite.Strong background with CMMS systems, preferably JDE and SAPExperience in large data analysis, identifying performance gaps, and delivering actionable solutions

 

Adaptability 

Adaptability to rapidly changing working environments and operational situations along with the ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects or tasks.Must be willing to perform in an on-call environment, including weekends and occasional altered work schedules.Must be willing to travel ~ 50% to support facilitiesCommunicationsAbility to communicate/coordinate with different levels and multiple departments within the organization. Strong written/verbal communication skills and internal customer focus.

Strong troubleshooting skillset for evaluating root cause and addressing technical issues with long term solutions in mind.Excellent problem-solving ability - Determining causes of operating errors, developing and implementing sustainable solutions.Project and soft skillsResults oriented individual capable of handling projects individually, able to work efficiently in a highly team-oriented environment.Additional skills needed: self-directed, flexible, self-learner, multitasking, results driven, safety focused.Strong interpersonal, communication, and time management skills.  Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
