Lisa Cole with Robert Half is partnering with an established company that is looking to hire a Corporate Tax Accountant. This role will primarily focus on ensuring accurate tax filings, managing multi-state tax obligations, and identifying opportunities for tax efficiencies. You will collaborate closely with internal teams, external advisors, and state tax authorities to ensure compliance and minimize risk. This is an in the office position located in Sacramento, CA. Responsibilities:
+ Prepare and file multi-state corporate income tax returns, including quarterly and annual filings, ensuring compliance with state and local tax regulations.
+ Oversee and manage state tax audits and resolve tax issues with state and local tax authorities.
+ Assist in tax planning and strategies to minimize tax liabilities, leveraging multi-state knowledge to optimize the company’s tax position.
+ Review and reconcile state and local tax provisions for financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and applicable regulations.
+ Monitor changes in state and local tax laws, regulations, and filing requirements, ensuring the company adapts to new tax compliance requirements.
+ Collaborate with internal finance, legal, and external advisors to ensure timely and accurate reporting of all tax matters.
+ Assist with the preparation of the tax provision for quarterly and annual financial statements.
+ Conduct research on multi-state tax issues, providing technical tax guidance and documentation for tax compliance and planning initiatives.
+ Support other tax-related projects, including sales tax, franchise tax, and property tax compliance, as needed.
Requirements
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field is required
• 3+ years' experience in a Corporate Tax Accountant role or similar position.
• In-depth knowledge and experience in corporate income tax in multiple states
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred
