Corporate Tax Accountant I
About The Role Summary The Tax Accountant will be employed within the Finance and Accounting department of Glacier Bancorp, Inc. The Tax Accountant I will assist the Tax Manager with the organization’s tax practices and procedures. The position consists of assisting in the tax processes related to state and local sales and use taxes, personal and property taxes, Federal and state income taxes, other state and local taxes, and tax reporting requirements. The Tax Accountant I will also provide assistance in a variety of tax related projects including assessing new and existing regulations and provide recommendations for tax planning and procedures. Builds strong relationships with Corporate Department and Division personnel and is responsible for providing exceptional and consistent customer service and support in an efficient manner. Team members approach conversations attentively with respect, patience and concern for the issue presented. Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating, and/or advising others on matters of significance. This is a Corporate position which may be located at an available bank division location across our eight state footprint in AZ, CO, ID, MT, NV, UT, WA, or WY. The entry rate for this position is $58,011.66 + /year (calculated for Kalispell, MT) All compensation offers are analyzed individually and take into consideration multiple factors including but not limited to geographic location, years of experience, and educational background. Duties Process the Bank Divisions' state and local taxes including related tax reporting. Assist in the monthly and annual income tax provision reporting process for the Accounting Department. Assist in research and support for Bank Divisions and other departments on tax related issues. Assist on various tax related projects for Tax Manager and Chief Accounting Officer. Must comply with all company policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control. Must complete the assigned online training courses and achieve a passing score by due date. Education Required/Preferred Education Level Description Required Bachelor’s Degree Business with an Accounting major. Experience Required/Preferred Experience Level Description Required 1 year 1 year similar or related experience in the tax and/or banking industry Required Advanced Experience Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Preferred Knowledge Of Tax activities and the required treatment, internal controls, and reconciliation procedures of those activities. Applicable State and Federal tax regulations and applicable association regulations. Preferred Beginner Experience Public Company work experience. Preferred Beginner Experience Bank-related taxes. Preferred Beginner Experience Silverlake operating systems of Jack Henry and Associates vendor.
