DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Corrections Food Service Instructor, you will function as a lead worker and provide instruction to inmates through on-the-job vocational training. You will instruct inmates in food preparation, production, service, and baking. In this role, you will ensure proper control over inmates by enforcing custody and security regulations and inspecting all food service areas, equipment, and food for conformance with established safety and sanitation standards. In addition, you will ensure that meals are prepared and served in a timely manner. Interested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information: + Full-time employment, 40 hours per week + Work hours are to be determined. This position involves shift work with rotating days off. Shifts are awarded based on bidding and seniority. + This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55. + Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: + Two years of experience in food preparation, production, or service of a variety of complete meal menus in an institutional food service operation, food catering service, restaurant, or in a similar large-scale food production operation;or + An equivalent combination of experience and training. Additional Requirements: + Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required. + You must be able to perform essential job functions.
