Amergis Healthcare Staffing is partnered with a much respected facility in New Bedford, MA who is currently seeking Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) to assist them at their facility on a full time basis.
Details of the position include:
Location: New Bedford, MA
Duration: 13 weeks to start with likelihood of extension
Facility Type: Correctional Facility
Openings: Mon-Fri and E/O weekend, 10:45p-11:15p
Pay - $48/hr local and $2,150 gross/week travel
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
General nursing duties. Med passing, triage, and risk assessment.
-Assists physicians with medical treatments -Administers prescribed medication
-Applies surgical dressings & bandages
-Provides emergency first aid care
-Checks & records vital signs -Obtains specimens from inmate patients for diagnostic testing
-Reports reactions to treatments and medications, as well as changes in the inmates’ emotional or physical condition
-Provides inmate patient education and/or discharge planning
-Records all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms
-Promotes a therapeutic environment to ensure inmates are treated in a professional, ethical and tactful manner
-Performs other position-related duties as assigned, depending on assignment setting
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Qualifications:
+ Current Nurse License for the state in which the nurse practices
+ Minimum of one year of correctional health care experience preferred
+ Current CPR if applicable
+ TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
+ Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
+ WILL CONSIDER A NEW GRAD
