Amergis Healthcare Staffing is partnered with a much respected facility in Boston MA who is currently seeking an RN to assist them at their facility on a full time basis.
Details of the position include:
Location: Boston, MA
Duration: 13 weeks to start with likelihood of extension
Facility Type: Correctional Facility
Openings: Full time, days and evenings available (Mon-Fri and every other weekend required)
RN – $58/hr local and $2,700 gross/week travel
*No parking on site, but there is a garage close by that is $300/month. We can reimburse up to $200/month.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
General nursing duties. Med passing, triage, and risk assessment.
-Assists physicians with medical treatments -Administers prescribed medication
-Applies surgical dressings & bandages
-Provides emergency first aid care
-Checks & records vital signs -Obtains specimens from inmate patients for diagnostic testing
-Reports reactions to treatments and medications, as well as changes in the inmates’ emotional or physical condition
-Provides inmate patient education and/or discharge planning
-Records all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms
-Promotes a therapeutic environment to ensure inmates are treated in a professional, ethical and tactful manner
-Performs other position-related duties as assigned, depending on assignment setting
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Qualifications:
Current Nurse License for the state in which the nurse practices Minimum of one year of correctional health care experience preferred Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice Participation and completion of Amergis’ Competency program when applicable Current CPR if applicable TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) WILL CONSIDER A NEW GRAD
