Corrosion Technician

Our rich diversity of people and ideas makes us a stronger, more innovative organization. **Job Summary** Perform basic field testing of corrosion control systems on underground and submerged metallic structures. Recommend troubleshooting tests and identify when such testing is required. Responsibilities **Core Responsibilities** + Work independently, make field decisions without direct supervision and be responsible for obtaining field data to determine condition of structures under evaluation. + Compile and submit field data for senior staff review. + Be familiar with standard survey and construction practices for corrosion control projects. + Estimate duration for both engineering and construction projects. + Organize and perform multiple small projects simultaneously. + Develop test procedures for complex troubleshooting. + Evaluate field data and prepare draft reports for the area supervisor. Qualifications **Minimum Qualifications** + 0-3 years (minimum) experience in corrosion control industry particularly related to cathodic protection work. + Government contracts require U.S. Citizenship + Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills. + In lieu of NACE Certification an Associate’s Degree in Electrical Technology is required. + Ability to work independently as well as interact with team members, clients and management staff. + Ability/ willingness to travel as required for the job. + Clean driving record and ability to operate a company vehicle + This position may require significant time standing or walking on uneven ground, possible climbing of ladders or being in high places, working in tight spaces, lifting up to 60 pounds, and, in general, being overall physically demanding. It may also require work in an all-weather environment. **Preferred Qualifications** + Have a current certification with NACE International as a Corrosion Technician, CP Level 1 or higher preferred. **Physical Demands and Work Environment** This position may require significant time standing or walking on uneven ground, possible climbing of ladders or being in high places, working in tight spaces, lifting up to 50 pounds, and, in general, being overall physically demanding.
