Cortez - Process Control Engineer

Position Description:

Our people division is growing, and we are looking for a Process Control Engineer at our Cortez operation. The successful candidate will maintain and enhance the process control and other related systems to optimize safety, environmental compliance, equipment health, and production at the Autoclave facility.

Responsibilities:

 

Maintain, develop, modify, and troubleshoot ABB Bailey Infi90, Emerson DeltaV, and Rockwell PLC control Systems. Modify control system logic to maintain existing and develop new process control functionality. Modify control system interlocks, permissives, alarms, and operator displays for safe and optimized process control. Design, install, and maintain OPC and Modbus interfaces to control systems. Analyze and tune process control loops. Manage and perform control system software upgrades. Manage and perform control system hardware maintenance and upgrades in control rooms and Motor Control Centers. Respond to control system troubleshooting after-hours as required, including troubleshooting remotely, and callouts to site. Maintain, develop, modify, and troubleshoot process control support systems: OSI-PI historian, advanced process control, DB-Doc, SPLIT camera, etc. Maintain, configure, and troubleshoot Microsoft PCs and Servers. Maintain, configure, and troubleshoot Ethernet and ABB Infi-90 networks, including Cisco switches. Assist in maintaining cyber security systems for Process Control system computers and servers. Work directly with vendors and contractors to facilitate control system maintenance, upgrades, and expansions. Analyze process systems using current and historical data, to identify problems and opportunities. Research and analyze process performance, draw conclusions, and take action to resolve process control issues in an operating plant. Provide guidelines to plant operations and maintenance groups to achieve safety and production goals in an environmentally responsible, and economic manner. Work constructively in a team environment that creates and enhances the Barrick vision through understanding and capturing future opportunities. Participate in regular plant inspections to identify and record safety issues and process improvement opportunities. Conduct regular interviews with various personnel onsite to encourage safe working habits and identify improvement opportunities. Identify, originate, develop, and implement projects specifically to improve and enhance safety onsite. Provide regular reports on project progress and activities. Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Process Control, Electrical, Computer related, or general engineering degree.  Associates degree or appropriate work experience may be acceptable. required Demonstrated functional knowledge of the principals and methods used in Process Control and processing analysis. required Proficient with current Microsoft operating systems and basic software: Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. required Demonstrated knowledge and ability to safely work in an environment with exposed 110VAC sources. required Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. required  Experience installing, programming, and troubleshooting Bailey Infi90, Emerson DeltaV, Rockwell PLC, and OSI PI systems. preferred Microsoft PC/server and Ethernet network development and troubleshooting experience. preferred Process optimization experience. preferred
