Our people division is growing, and we are looking for a Project Engineer – AHS Maintenance Engineer at our Cortez operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for the coordination of internal and external resources relating to the maintenance of the Autonomous Trucks once installed and calibrated ready for haulage operations. This role will oversee the Autonomous Technicians as part of the implementation team and will oversee internal and external resources ensuring project deliverables are met and that the operational maintenance goals of the Autonomous Haulage project and other surface automation implementations are fulfilled.

Responsibilities:
Maintain existing, re-forecast, and work within a People, Process, Technology Plan that will be used to describe, track, and communicate specific project tasks and milestones Provide project communication internally to various project stakeholders. Communicate issues or roadblocks for the maintenance team Define KPIs for maintaining and monitoring of autonomous vehicles with support from internal partners for Condition Based Monitoring activities Develop and implement truck maintenance strategy utilizing onsite maintenance team Develop and maintain in depth technical knowledge on the AHS system, operation, and support functions Keep up to date with equipment changes, developments and applications related to service requirements involving procedures and standards Assist in the investigation and resolution of system problems by understanding and utilizing engineering standards, technical manuals, engineering prints and electronic test tooling Liaise with the Training Department to develop autonomous system training materials for new hires and AHS Technicians who are new to the position Develop and implement employee engagement tools to gauge perception and effectiveness of autonomous project communications Promote open communication between all levels of the organization Ensure safe and environmentally responsible project implementation with all staff, consultants, and contractors Ensure adherence to the project budget, forecasts, and reporting cadence Preform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Accredited post-secondary education (a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical/Electrical/ Chemical/Mining or related field) will be considered as experience, amount depending on nature and extent required Five (5) years practical experience in a leadership role, preferably in a position in a maintenance department in a mining environment is required Eight (8) years practical experience in technical services department within the mining environment preferred Autonomous systems or operational FMS experience preferred Demonstrated safety leadership capability for both self and team required Excellent leadership, people, and communication skills to act as a “Change Agent” when required Exhibit outstanding verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, and analytical skills required Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project required Proficient with emerging technology adoption preferred, systems experience preferred Ability to maintain a high standard of working ethics required
