Our people division is growing, and we are looking for a Project Engineer, Equipment Planning. The successful candidate is responsible for the planned coordination of internal and external resources relating to the installation of autonomous equipment. Working as a key point of contact to oversee internal and external partners ensuring project deliverables are met and the goals of the Autonomous Haulage project and other surface automation implementations are fulfilled.
Leading the execution of daily activities of the installation with adherence to the constraints of a project budget, and while coordinating with Cortez Open Pit Operations, Technical Services, Maintenance departments and OEM engineering teams. Leading by example and maintaining a high level of standard. Communicate internally and externally on progress, constraints, system issues/bugs and routine maintenance requirements or troubleshooting.
Key tasks to support the implementation and adoption of the Autonomous System will include definition project plan and alignment into the NGM operating model, support definition of SOPs and training requirements.

Responsibilities:
Lead project planning and execution of the installation of autonomous systems on equipment. Develop project plan, re-forecast, and work within a People, Process, Technology Plan that will be used to describe, track, and communicate specific project tasks and milestones. Provide project communication internally to various project stakeholders. Communicate issues or roadblocks for project team. Liaise between project stakeholders for planning and execution of plan. Monitor progress and scheduling of project, including contactor support. Develop and maintain in depth technical knowledge on the AHS system, operation, and support functions. Keep up to date with equipment changes, developments and applications related to service requirements involving procedures and standards. Promote open communication between all levels of the organization. Ensure to maintain a safe and environmentally responsible project implementation with all staff, consultants, and contractors. Ensure adherence to the project budget, forecasts, and reporting cadences Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Accredited post-secondary education (a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical/Electrical/ Chemical/Mining or related field) required Eight (8) years practical experience in a dispatching role, preferably in a position in the open pit mining environment required Two (5) years practical experience in a leadership role, preferably in a position in the open pit mining environment required Eight (8) years practical experience in technical services or project planning department within the mining environment preferred Autonomous systems or operational FMS understanding is favorable. Demonstrated safety leadership capability for both self and team required. Excellent leadership, people, and communication skills to act as a “Change Agent” when required. Exhibit outstanding verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, and analytical skills required Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Project required. Proficient with emerging technology adoption preferred; and systems experience preferred. Ability to maintain a high standard of working ethics
