Cost Accountant

The location in Calhoun, TN, is seeking talent to fill the position of Cost Accountant. 

 

Requirements

You will assume the following responsibilities:

Perform financial reporting processes, which includes monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement close procedures, account reconciliations, & variance analysis. Prepare annual budgets and periodic forecasts. Perform costing analysis and provide guidance to Mill Management. Prepare grade cost analysis and margin reports for Mill Management. Assist with any other special projects or assignments. Understand journal entries, accounting flows, and operational back-office processes. Identify and communicate potential risk in accounts and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner. Produce detailed documentation of accounting processes and associated accounting flows. Identify opportunities for process and internal controls enhancements. Provide additional ad hoc analysis, as needed. Support procurement operations for the Calhoun facility.

 

The Ideal Profile

Undergraduate degree in Finance/Accounting or related field Minimum of 2 – 3 years of Cost Accounting experience. Experience in conducting audits and financial analysis required. Manufacturing facility experience strongly preferred. SAP experience preferred. Position requires strong analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities. Knowledge and experience with the full Microsoft Suite required. Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. A high level of ethical practice and safety mindedness required.
