Cost Accountant

Job Title: Cost Accountant

Job Summary: 

The Cost Accountant will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and managing cost data to ensure accurate financial reporting and support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cost accounting, cost analysis, and financial planning, with a strong attention to detail and analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Collect and analyze data related to operational costs.Set standard costs for manufactured goods and develop cost standards.Conduct cost-volume-profit (CVP) analysis, including for small businesses.Establish costs for business processes such as administration, labor, and shipping.Perform account reconciliations and ensure accuracy in financial records.Prepare audit reports and present findings to management.Recommend changes to company processes and policies to reduce costs and maximize profits.Advise executives and upper management on appropriate costing based on financial data.Manage the company’s balance sheet and accounting books.Support other company accountants with invoicing and capital expenditure.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Minimum of 4 years of experience in cost accounting or a similar role.Proficiency in cost accounting, cost analysis, and variance analysis.Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, JDE, or JD Edwards.Strong knowledge of inventory accounting and bill of materials.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.High attention to detail and accuracy.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $48.00
