The Cost Accountant assists in accurately forecasting and reporting actual revenue and cost of sales from percentage of completion (POC) revenue recognition, and will also assist in accurately reporting inventory valuation (via supporting cycle counts, purchase price variance analysis, and setting and maintaining standard costs). Additionally, they will assist the accounting department with development and implementation of cost accounting policies and procedures.
Salary range for this role is $72K - 80K.

Your Education and Experience Should Be… Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting or Finance; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 1 - 4 years of related experience and/or training. Strong organizational skills, detail oriented and have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Ability to relate manufacturing activities/processes to financial outcomes. Takes initiative and is able to meet required deadlines. Effective oral and written communication skills and able to build relationships within the organization. Ability to solve practical problems in a timely manner while dealing with a level of ambiguity. Proficient in MS Office, including extensive Excel knowledge, and ad-hoc reporting experience. Experience with ERP Systems/JD Edwards (E1) is a plus. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Initiate and maintain JDE Enterprise One job costs. Review work order activity, including investigation and reporting of variances. Assist in percentage of completion (POC/Over-Time) revenue recognition review and analysis. Create and disseminate work order exception variance reporting. Purchase price variance - review, analyze, track, report and make material cost recommendations. Cycle Counting - monitor process and report cycle count results. Prepare periodic and month end journal entries and account reconciliations. Perform month end close duties (job closeout analysis, projected final and gross margin reporting, backlog roll forward, and various other analysis including monthly actual to forecast revenue and COS variance analysis). Create/develop ad hoc reporting to support/assist continuous improvement. Performs other related duties, as assigned.
