Cost Accountant
Job Title: Cost Accountant
Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Cost Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and monitoring data accumulation systems, running the cost accounting process, reviewing standards cost regularly, and performing ongoing analysis of process constraints, target costing projects, and margin analysis. This role also includes coordination of physical inventory counts, cycle counts, and resolving inventory variances.

ResponsibilitiesSetup and monitor data accumulation systems to provide appropriate costing and variance information.Run the cost accounting process and regularly review standards cost for updates.Perform ongoing analysis of process constraints, target costing projects, and margin analysis.Review standard and actual cost, providing accurate cost analysis within scheduled deadlines.Complete budget-related activities, including timely reporting, monitoring, and analyzing accounting data.Produce financial reports and perform financial profitability analysis.Provide business management with recommendations for improvements on profitability and financial objectives.Publish budgets meeting required schedules as provided by corporate.Manage physical and accounting inventory at the facility.Coordinate physical inventory counts and cycle counts.Investigate and resolve cycle counting variances.Essential SkillsMinimum of 5 years experience, preferably in cost accounting.Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.High attention to detail.Strong technical knowledge in accounting principles, practices, and procedures.Previous experience with cost accounting.Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and ERP systems.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work and interact with departments throughout the organization.Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.Sound planning and organizational skills.Ability to meet communicated schedules and deadlines.Strong ability to function as a team player.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in Aerospace is helpful.Knowledgeable and innovative in identifying opportunities for business improvements.Work Environment

This position operates in a climate-controlled office environment. The role also requires exposure to manufacturing areas where personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields, mandatory hearing protection, and safety shoes are required. The position offers a hybrid work style.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $85000.00
