Description Amanda Warren is in search of a diligent Cost Accountant to be a part of our team based in Sacramento, California. Your role will primarily revolve around maintaining and analyzing our inventory and cost data, preparing accurate cost adjustments, and assisting in month-end closing. You will also collaborate with our IT department on system-related issues and contribute to various internal department reporting requirements. Responsibilities: • Accurately record all inventory receipts and post item costs in the system. • Perform analysis on the average cost of items and prepare necessary cost adjustments. • Prepare, analyze and report on gross margin analysis periodically. • Assist in the closing of accounts at the end of each month, preparing necessary journal entries, and analyzing inventory evaluation. • Collaborate with the IT department on system maintenance and development issues. • Analyze cost accounting data and aid in cycle count and physical inventories. • Maintain and test internal control documentation. • Conduct detailed account analysis and reconcile sales, cost, and inventory liability accounts. • Review and analyze inventory and margin reports, conduct research, and perform analytical studies with regards to cost analyses and profitability. • Support in special projects as required and assist in internal department reporting requirements. • Maintain the item list in the system and create new items when required. • Ensure accuracy, validity, and timely submission of inventory reports. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required. • Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services is essential. • Ability to use Crystal Reports effectively. • Experience with Epicor software is necessary. • Understanding and experience with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning. • Comprehensive knowledge of various Accounting Functions. • Proficiency in managing Accounts Payable (AP). • Demonstrable experience in Auditing. • Familiarity with Budget Processes. • Ability to handle and manage Cash Activity.
