Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for an individual with experience in Cost Accounting to join our team. The Cost Accountant will be an integral part of our accounting team, focusing on reporting, audit compliance, process improvements, and contributing to business results. Responsibilities • Analyze and report on expense and inventory trends in manufacturing, utilizing cost accounting methods. • Participate in cycle counts as required and oversee the management of company inventory. • Conduct analysis of material, labor, and overhead cost variances. • Provide general accounting support, including the preparation of monthly journal entries and the reconciliation of assigned balance sheet accounts. • Manage the monthly scrap process and assist with the annual standard cost roll for various business groups. • Assign account coding, approve expenditures, and prepare recurring and adjusting journal entries as part of the month-end close process. • Prepare and update standard costs as needed. • Review and explain month-end manufacturing variances between actual and standard costs. • Meet corporate deadlines by managing monthly, quarterly, and year-end cost accounting close requirements. • Ensure accurate invoicing and prepare cost accounting reports to monitor manufacturing expenses. Requirements • Applicant must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of Cost Accounting. • Proficiency in Accounting Functions is a prerequisite for this role. • Familiarity with Standard Costing and Standard Cost Accounting is essential. • The applicant should have a background in the Manufacturing industry. • Experience with Cycle Count is required for this job position. • The candidate should be adept at Variance Analysis. • The role requires the ability to handle Month End Close activities smoothly. • Proficiency in making Journal Entries is necessary for this job position. • Knowledge of HFM (Hyperion Financial Management) is a prerequisite for this role. • Applicants should have experience with Hyperion Planning.
