Location: Bethel, CT

Reports to: FP&C Manager

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing monthly cost financial reports, performing cost accounting methods and standards, executing cost and inventory control systems, managing and interpreting cost data, and preparing various cost accounting analyses and inventory reports for management.

Key Responsibilities:

Support general accounting functions, including sub-ledger reconciliations, journal entries, balance sheets, cost allocations, and account reconciliations.Prepare and analyze month-end financial statements.Maintain and update standard cost models and work center rates annually.Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Sales and Marketing to develop cost models for product pricing and monitor productivity.Review production costs, variances, and inventory levels, providing monthly reports on product line profitability.Analyze inventory reserves for obsolete or slow-moving inventory.Track capital spending and administer the fixed assets system.Handle property tax reporting.Develop and implement procedures and process improvements related to manufacturing and cost accounting issues.Undertake other projects and analyses as directed.

Required Competencies:

B.S. in Accounting or Finance.5-7 years of business experience, preferably in a multi-site manufacturing environment.Broad knowledge of cost accounting/control functions, estimating techniques, and financial modeling.Strong analytical skills and working knowledge of manufacturing.Experience with inventory management and ERP systems.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Detail-oriented with strong analytical and project ownership skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).Experience with QAD or similar ERP packages.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $36.00/hr.
