Description We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Cost Accountant to join our finance team in the Corbin, KY area. This role will be responsible for performing cost analyses, preparing budget reports, and assisting in financial planning. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of cost accounting principles, and a keen eye for identifying cost-saving opportunities. Key Responsibilities: + Collect and analyze cost data to maintain an accurate expense database. + Develop and maintain cost accumulation systems. + Identify and track fixed and variable costs. + Review standard costs and actual costs for discrepancies. + Prepare budgeting and financial reports to support decision-making. + Analyze profit margins and cost variances to improve financial performance. + Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual cost forecasts. + Support month-end and year-end closing processes. + Identify and recommend cost-saving initiatives to enhance efficiency. Requirements Qualifications & Skills: + Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred. + Up to five years of experience in cost accounting or related financial activities. + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high degree of accuracy. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with accounting software is a plus. + Strong attention to business controls and financial accuracy. + Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills. + Strong initiative, results-oriented mindset, and a sense of urgency.
