Job Description
We are seeking a motivated Cost Accountant II to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, studying, and collecting data to determine costs associated with business activities such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor. This role involves analyzing changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided to determine effects on cost. Additionally, you will analyze actual manufacturing costs, prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs, and provide management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability.
ResponsibilitiesPlan, study, and collect data to determine costs of business activities such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor.Analyze changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided to determine effects on cost.Analyze actual manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.Record cost information for use in controlling expenditures.Analyze audits of costs and prepare reports.Make estimates of new and proposed product costs.Prepare quotations for the cost of large projects and analysis post close out.Provide management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services.Maintain Cost Accounting System.Assist with inventory valuation and reporting, including physical inventory and cycle count program and excess and obsolescence analysis.Assist with month-end close of the general ledger.Develop and maintain a standardized reporting database for internal performance reporting.Prepare internal monthly performance charts and external Monthly Performance Review (MPR) charts.Reconcile finished goods inventories.Compile project costs and analyze variances.Travel to manufacturing facilities as needed.Assist with standardized reporting database used for internal reporting.Essential Skills3-5 years of financial analysis (pricing analysis) or cost accounting experience.Experience in the manufacturing industry.Experience managing own projects/processes.Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, queries).Longevity and tenure in previous roles.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with financial analysis, pricing analysis, cost accounting, pricing, month-end close, cost analysis, reconciliation, Microsoft Excel, manufacturing environment, manufacturing industry, accounting, financial reporting, inventory, and general ledger.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $41.00/hr.
