We are seeking a dedicated Cost Accountant to supervise the implementation of cost accounting and cost controls within a Tier 1 automotive supplier. The ideal candidate will manage various aspects of cost accounting, provide detailed cost analysis, and support business requirements through comprehensive inventory reports.
Responsibilities
+ Manage the cost accounting function of a Tier 1 automotive supplier.
+ Oversee areas such as overhead cost controlling, material costing, product cost controlling, and cost object controlling.
+ Conduct month-end and year-end closing and reporting.
+ Provide detailed cost analysis not supplied by general accounting, including monthly inventory analysis, standard cost comparisons, and monitoring raw material purchases.
+ Regularly validate SAP data and analyze COGS, PPV, and standard and actual costs.
+ Compile cost accounting and inventory reports to support business requirements.
+ Lead monthly physical inventory processes, including updates and monitoring physical count results.
+ Provide input and guidance for business processes involving customers, suppliers, and consultants, including direct supply, sub-contracting, and trials/prototypes.
+ Assist consultants with SAP cost accounting processes and participate in relevant SAP financial accounting processes.
+ Build relationships and support other departments that integrate with cost accounting.
+ Support executives by providing detailed analyses of financial statements, working with operational departments.
+ Document procedures for agreed-upon business processes.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
+ Assist with all audit requirements.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
+ 3+ years of cost accounting experience.
+ Strong organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
+ Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
+ Strong computer aptitude, including expertise with Microsoft Excel and Word.
+ Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
+ Analytical skills with attention to detail.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive.
+ Proficiency in SAP costing modules.
+ Willingness to adapt and handle month-end processes.
+ Experience in cost analysis, material reconciliation, general ledger, and forecasting.
Work Environment
This role operates within a dynamic environment centered around respect for others. The culture is hard-working, with everyone working towards common goals. The position reports to the Accounting Manager and involves interaction with internal team members such as the Accounting Supervisor, Plant Manager, and Departmental Managers, as well as external customers and vendors. There are no direct reports for this position. The company provides a great benefits package and opportunities for growth.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
