Cost Accounting Analyst
Job Title: Accounting Analyst

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Accounting Analyst to perform accurate setup, maintenance, and inactivation of jobs, phases, cost codes, budgets, contracts, and more. This role involves capturing and classifying cost data, analyzing job cost changes, and assisting project managers and the accounting team with job setup and updates. The ideal candidate will have experience in cost analysis, Excel, reporting, and billing within the construction industry.

ResponsibilitiesPerform accurate setup, maintenance, OCIP/CCIP designation, and inactivation of jobs, phases, cost codes, budgets, and contracts.Ensure contract, change orders, exemption certificates, and OCIP/CCIP insurance documents are saved in master folders.Review contracts to ensure correct tax status and proper wording.Analyze material, labor, and other expenses to determine productivity, margin, and other project-related data.Capture and classify cost data to determine accurate costs associated with projects.Analyze job cost changes and the related impact on margin.Assist project managers and accounting team with timely work order/job setup and updates for month-end close and PM reviews.Prepare required reports and graphs.Monitor unallocated labor on jobs and work with project managers to correct.Perform daily/monthly accounting duties including troubleshooting differences and errors through data mining, detailed analysis, and research.Prepare journal entries to ensure financial transactions are properly recorded and in compliance with GAAP.Perform inventory support to ensure accuracy of transactions and internal controls.Coordinate physical inventory count, reconciliation, and analysis of fab shop inventory.Validate accuracy of p-card costs to work orders/jobs.Process inventory transfers for job costing as required.Maintain accurate cost and quantities of inventory.Maintain accurate written procedures for inventory control processes and functions.Essential Skills3+ years of Cost Analyst experience3+ years of Accounting experience within construction2+ years of AIA billing experience2+ years of intermediate Excel experience (pivot tables, v-lookups)Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or other (not required if a candidate has 5+ years of industry accounting experience)Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience using WennsoftWork Environment

Two days in office per week and 3 days from home!

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
