Cost Accounting Manager

The role involves in-depth cost management, budgeting, and leading a team to ensure accurate inventory valuation and timely payments. You will be working closely with various levels of team members and providing valuable business insights, financial analysis, and variance explanations for multiple projects. Responsibilities: • Lead the cost accounting team in maintaining the accuracy of the general ledger and cost accounting data. • Oversee inventory levels, implementing strategies to optimize inventory turnover and reduce carrying costs. • Perform tasks for the monthly financial closing process, including inventory, manufacturing costs, and other metrics to ensure timing and accuracy of standards and gross margins. • Work closely with personnel to understand and document operational financial issues, and respond promptly to requests for information and issue resolution. • Prepare detailed financial reports and analyses, performance metrics, variance reporting, and presentations for management. • Support the audit process with both external and internal auditors. • Build rapport with other functional leaders and support them from financial/compliance aspects to improve performance and achieve the company’s overall goals. Requirements • Proven experience as a Cost Accounting Manager for a minimum of 5 years. • Proficiency in budgeting processes, with the ability to establish, monitor, and adjust the company's budget as necessary. • Extensive knowledge in cost accounting, including the development and implementation of cost accounting systems and procedures. • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections. • Advanced skills in computer software programs related to accounting and financial management. • Strong leadership skills, with the capacity to manage and develop a team. • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial colleagues. • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; advanced degree or detail oriented accounting certification preferred. • Sound decision-making skills with a strategic focus. • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
