Cost Accounting Manager- PENA KS

We are seeking dedicated individuals to join us as full-time, on-site team members at our new, state-of-the-art factory located in the thriving city of DeSoto, Kansas.

Essential Duties:

Coordinate and support monthly financial close, cycle counts, and inventory auditsReviews vendor invoices for payments of manufacturing raw materials, including research, correspondence, and follow-up of discrepanciesMonthly reconciliations of vendor statements vs. raw material payablesConduct reviews of accounting of variances (PPV, Inventory, Absorption, etc.) directing improvement plans to the businessMonthly raw material standard vs. actual reconciliation and corresponding variance explanationsVarious general ledger account reconciliations – ensuring accurate financial postingsMaintains, reviews, and communicates cost center expenses in conjunction with FP&A Team, ensuring proper documentation and system entriesAbility to identify issues and work within the finance team and other teams to resolve the issuesAdvanced understanding of how supply chain flow and manufacturing processes interact with the general ledgerManage fixed asset acquisition, capitalization and life cycle activitiesBuild bottom up comprehensive inventory cost roll using standard cost principles.Works closely and collaboratively across multi-department teamsCommunicate effectively with fellow team members and members of other departmentsAbility to use reasoning to solve problems that may ariseUtilize established resources to complete work efficiently and effectivelyTimeliness and accuracy of work is importantSupports Cost Accounting efforts for maintaining JSOX Internal ControlsAssists with maintenance of accounting policies and procedures as they are developed.Assist auditors with any inquiries and samplesOther various administrative support as needed

Qualifications:  Requirements - Required and/or Preferred

Education:

Basic/Required: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or similar disciplinePreferred:  Advanced degree

Essential Qualifications:

Minimum of 10+ years of experience in cost accountingFundamental understanding of general accounting principles and procedures (GAAP)Advanced literacy with Microsoft Office, especially Excel spreadsheets and database functions for tracking, variance analysis and reporting Knowledge of SAP, Oracle or another fully integrated ERP systemMust have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with SAP S4Strong time management skillsDetail oriented and highly organized, with a strong analytical and problem-solving skill setAbility to respond in a timely and courteous manner to internal and external customersCapable of handling confidential information in a responsible mannerAbility to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager/controllerAbility to work with domestic and international teamsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and WordResilient, self-motived and able to work well under pressure
