Cost Analyst
Description We are in search of a Cost Analyst to join our team in Memphis, Tennessee. The selected candidate will be instrumental in the financial monitoring of our projects, conducting comprehensive audits, and preparing financial reports. The role involves a high degree of interaction with various internal stakeholders, making it a central function within our organization. Responsibilities: • Perform detailed financial analyses to validate the projected financial outcomes of assigned projects • Regularly assess project financial risks and develop mitigation strategies • Prepare and deliver various cost reports such as Budget Analysis Reports (BARs), special studies, and Cost-audited BARs (CABs) • Conduct audits to ensure costs are posted accurately to the ledger and reflect in the budget report • Analyze current budget reports and take necessary action based on findings • Audit project forecast of General Conditions, General Requirements, staff and labor projections to accurately forecast costs • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all general contract documents and the relationship of job estimate to contract documents • Train and develop new Cost Analysts and project staff • Act as a bridge between Accounting and field staff, facilitating smooth communication and operations • Monitor and understand project cash position and participate in Payment Application creation • Work closely with Engineering and Finance to establish Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for allocation of costs • Prepare final Cost Audited Budget Analysis Report (CAB), reconcile to final contract value, and cost • Validate final revenue before final bill submission. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems. • Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning. • Demonstrable knowledge of Accounting Functions. • Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) processes. • Proficiency in Auditing procedures. • Understanding of Budget Processes. • Ability to manage Cash Activity effectively. • Experience with SAP and SAP ERP systems. • Skills in Budgeting and Forecasting.
