Summary of Position: The Cost Analyst will provide variance analysis between actual and standard costs to assist plant management in decision-making and other financial initiatives. This role involves maintaining master data of inventory items and routings through collaboration with Marketing, R&D, and Operations. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of financial and cost accounting manufacturing reporting systems and be familiar with various concepts, practices, and procedures in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide cost accounting support for an assigned location and act as a liaison between the remote location and Corporate Accounting.Prepare reports and analyze operational performance and budget variances to strengthen cost controls, reduce costs, and increase efficiencies.Review results with plant management and ensure accuracy of standards related to plant production, implementing adjustments to costs as necessary.Prepare reports on actual monthly results for the assigned location and provide comparative analysis to current and prior year forecasts.Responsible for consolidated reporting for plant operations, including monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on inventory valuation, production yield, efficiencies, and other variances.Collaboratively set up and maintain inventory items, BOM/product structures, material costs, and production line routings, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all processes.Perform month-end and pre-month-end duties, including month-end standards and journal entries.Continually analyze plant productivity reports and work with cross-functional team members to limit and control manufacturing variances.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related discipline.Three to five years of experience in accounting within a manufacturing environment.Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office applications, particularly strong skills in Excel and report generation.Strong written and verbal communication skills.
