Internship Summary   

The Internship Program with Ascension is designed to provide an on-the-job learning opportunity aimed at gaining \"real world\" work experience in a large healthcare environment, supporting leadership with data driven insights that deliver value to those we serve. Ascension’s objective is to provide a working and learning environment where interns can develop the skills and competencies necessary to grow into successful professionals and potential Ascension associates. The intern will work in the  Cost Analytics    team, within the larger Ascension Data Science Institute (ADSI)  team. 

 

What You Will Do

As a Cost Analytics team Intern you will have the opportunity to participate in the development of new models, reports, and dashboards that integrate multiple data sources into cohesive deliverables to provide new and valuable insights to business leaders. 

 

Essential Functions: 

Gathers, organizes, analyzes, and presents data using MS Excel or Google Sheets.Understand details of request from manager or stakeholder before embarking on work.Reviews own work and presents it professionally and concisely to one’s manager. Begins to identify patterns and errors in data.Makes timely decisions, knows priorities and recognizes deadlines.Understands the consequences of one’s decisions and knows to run complex decisions by one’s manager. 

 

What You Will Need 

Education:

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master’s degree program in Business, Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, Healthcare Administration, Operations, Data Science, technology degree, and/or a related field.



Preferred Competencies:

Effective analytical and organizational skills.Preferred SQL code and query tool (like Google BigQuery) experience.Ability to work independently on challenging tasks.Excellent communication skills.

Education:
