Cost Control Advisor

The Cost Control Advisor will provide support to TotalEnergies E&P USA Drilling and Asset Managers in preparation of annual budget and forecasts. Process operating partner JIBs, create cost trackers, post accruals and create and present monthly Cost Report to Finance Director. The Cost Control Advisor will demonstrate a good understanding of SAP and Excel.

Activities

Budget/Reporting/Close

Manage overall cost control activities for projects, including budgets, forecasts, commitments, cost reporting, VOWD, variance analysis, contingencies, period close, reconciliation, trend analysis, and invoice processing.Liaise actively with project stakeholders such as project management, financial reporting, HQ, and partners.Develop and produce cost budgets and ensure proper cost monitoring.Attend technical meetings to be informed of operational deviations and/or work programs modifications and evaluate their financial impact.Lead periodical meetings with operational managers to analyze operations progress and prepare updates of the Estimated Final Cost (EFC).Contribute to preparation of the Long-Term Plan and ensure consistency between the Plan, the Budget and the medium-term operations schedule.Provide regular updates of drilling cost performance and variances versus budgets and forecasts.Prepare timely and accurate monthly cost estimates with appropriate accruals and monthly/quarterly/annual forecasts.Work closely with various teams including Reporting, Property Accounting, and shared services teams.Perform monthly and quarterly close activities and reporting.Identify opportunities for improvement to forecasting and other project cost control methodologies and document as lessons learned.Participate in project digitalization to promote efficiencies, synergies, and simplification.Provide all necessary support during routine audits of costs by internal and external auditors.Perform all required financial reconciliations.Promote a culture of safety, health, and environment.

Invoices/Commitments

Process and review invoices to ensure compliance with the commercial terms of contracts and correct coding of costs.Support the Contracts & Procurement function by creating PRs and assisting in expediting PR/PO approval processes.Perform cost allocation, WBS management, and PR/PO Approval.

Other

Prepare accurate and timely trackers for Cash Calls, Joint Interest Billings, Working Capital for management review.Train interns and rotational graduates by assigning tasks and managing their progress.Advise other departments on procedures and policies related to Finance support functions.Ad Hoc requests. Candidate Profile

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or similar. CPA preferred.Minimum experience of 8 years in Finance roles, preferably with Oil and Gas industry experience.Major energy project development knowledge and experience, with Partner reporting interfaces.

Skills:

Strong Accounting skills.Knowledgeable and experienced with cost control principles and methods including budgeting and forecasting, change management, management systems/procedures, Work Breakdown Structures.Knowledge and understanding of cost analysis, forecasting, budget preparation.Ability to meet deadlines in a timely and effective manner within a high-pressure environment.Ability to liaise effectively at all levels of the organization. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.Excellent organizational ability and commitment to meeting deadlines.Team spirit with ability to work closely with various stakeholders including but not limited to diverse international teams, affiliates, HQ, etc.Strong communication and proficient presentation skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office suite & SAP
