Job Summary
Lead cost planning activities for the company, oversee Cost Estimating and Cost Administration groups, and implement and manage KMC/NAL cost planning activity.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
1.Direct the timely and accurate preparation of cost estimates to support the customer quotation process.
2.Oversee development of hourly machine costs and labor rates. Identify and address areas of concern.
3.Ensure that cost targets are established for all new products.
4.Communicate targets to all functional areas and actively work to ensure targets are achieved.
5.Directly engage key program participants and management when a concern comes to light that will affect profitability.
6.Establish and oversee the implementation of a tracking system for programs in development.
7.Manage costing system development and improvement.
8.Oversee development of cost tables for all processes, assembly equipment, and tooling for use in the costing system.
9.Set priorities and allocate department resources as necessary to cover periods of high demand
10.Performs other tasks, such as special studies or cost related projects, as assigned.
Requirements
1.Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business related discipline
2.10+ years of related manufacturing experience, or equivalent; including 5 years of supervisory experience
(MBA or a BS in an Engineering disciple plus 10+ years of related manufacturing experience preferred)
3.Strong knowledge, skills, and abilities in the following areas:
a.Critical Thinking and Problem Solving skills
b.Organizational, planning, multi-tasking, and follow-up skills
c.Mathematical and analytical skills with attention to detail
d.Computer skills – experience and proficiency using standard business software, includingMS Word, MS Excel, and MS Access
e.Written and verbal communication and presentation skills
f.Interpersonal skills – to interact with individuals professionally and confidently at all levelsof authority and maintain composure in pressure situations.
