Cost Estimator
Job Title: Cost EstimatorJob Description We are seeking a Cost Estimator to support cost estimates for building design templates and standards for various Operations Network building design programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for working with the team to do cost estimates for labor, materials, subcontractors, permits, overhead, and contingencies for estimate templates that govern the design of technologically advanced facilities. Responsibilities + Utilize tools and templates for bid analysis and cost management. + Engage and manage third-party Quantity Surveyor vendors. + Work seamlessly with multi-disciplinary teams, both internal and external on a global scale. + Communicate cost control goals to all stakeholders effectively. + Identify Value Engineering opportunities in the design and quantify the savings. + Identify project risks and the financial cost impacts associated and communicate to the broader team. + Update repository for historical data. + Define and track cost performance metrics. + Analyze and provide timely feedback of Construction vendor proposals using benchmark data. + Create accurate bid leveling documents. + Provide cost analysis of schedule and design variations. + Validate the final award amount and scope based on contract documents including schedule. + Implement, maintain, and execute all cost control, change management, progress, and performance reporting. + Validate change cost impacts. + Ensure vendor invoices are accurate and timely. + Support the construction team with project close-out and final payments. + Deliver results for multiple projects with competing priorities on a consistent basis. Essential Skills + Proficiency in cost estimating software and construction cost estimating. + Experience with estimating tools such as Destiny, ACC, Cost X, or Autodesk. + Ability to build up and reference benchmarking tools. + Experience in supporting full-scale template estimates and pricing out entire templates using internal data. + Strong understanding of construction and materials to provide cost-effective solutions. + Ability to work with program managers and design managers to ensure comprehensive coverage of intake sheets. + Experience with reporting market findings and integrating third-party market data into usable formats. + Excellent communication skills to articulate estimate strategy to construction and non-construction professionals. + Proficiency in estimating software such as CostX, Cubit, Onscreen Takeoff, Timberline, and Bluebeam. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or related field. + 5+ years of experience in construction cost control, with specific knowledge of electrical, mechanical, or ASC cost elements. + Experience reviewing and justifying budgets. + MS Office Suite power user. Work Environment This role can be performed remotely. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
