Job Description

Specialize in meticulously calculating total product costs across the supply chain, evaluating customer-added value from an end-to-end Total Cost of Ownership perspective, ensuring transparency, supporting cost reductions through supplier negotiations, and identifying cost drivers for product design optimization in I2M projects.

Your role:

Initiate improvement and optimization activities in close cooperation with your partners in innovation, procurement and operations through applying cost and value engineering levers.

Enhance the competitiveness and profitability of products and services through cost assessment, design to value, modularization, and standardization

Responsible for cost and value engineering projects, trainings and coaching.

Support the engineering and commodity teams to drive forward supplier productivity.

Establish cost and value engineering as a key process in Philips to support businesses and collaborate across functions to realize improvement roadmaps.

Drive towards a larger Community of Practice on Cost Engineering topics and processes in Philips.

Identify best practices, promote knowledge sharing in the network of value engineers, and through this improve our current working processes, methods, tools and standards.


You're the right fit if:

You’ve acquired 3+ years of working experience in a technology company (e.g. Consumer Electronics, Lighting, Healthcare, Automotive) in product innovation, research, procurement, production/manufacturing, product management/marketing or similar function.

Your skills include Project management experience gained (lean manufacturing, six sigma programs, consulting), cost management, quality management and/or supply chain management.

You have a BS/MS degree in a technical subject (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Software Engineering or similar)

You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.
