Home Care Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant Position Purpose:

Provides occupational therapy services to the agency’s clients under the guidance and supervision of the Occupational Therapist, and in accordance with a written plan of treatment established by a physician, and any applicable state/certification requirements.

What You Will Do:

Effectively and efficiently prioritizes visit content and plans visits based on client capabilities, condition, preferences (when possible), physician orders and available resources.

Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal. State and local laws and regulations, the Organizational Integrity Program, Code of Ethics, as well as agency policies and procedures and adheres in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior.

Provides occupational therapy services to clients according to a physician’s written plan of treatment.

Implements the care plans for clients developed by the supervising occupational therapist.

Provides direct occupational therapy treatment to clients as assigned.

Instructs clients and family members in the use and care of therapeutic appliances and devices, such as ADL assistive devices, braces, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

Licensure as an occupational therapist assistant, if applicable, in the state of practice.

Graduation from a two-year college-level program approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) or two years of appropriate experience as a physical therapist assistant and achievement of a satisfactory grade on proficiency examination conducted, approved, or sponsored by the U.S. Public Health Service

Minimum of six months experience under a qualified occupational therapist

Home healthcare experience preferred.
