Provides treatment under the direction of an occupational therapist as prescribed by the referring physician and supervising occupational therapist. Recommends changes in treatment plan to the supervising occupational therapist based upon patient condition and response to treatment.

Responsibilities:

Actively participates in staff meetings, development, committees, and in-service education. Assists occupational therapists in patient surveys for all age groups within the scope of practice. Maintains detailed written/electronic documentation of clinical services, ensuring co-signing as required. Implements treatment programs based on the occupational therapist’s plan, using current scientific and clinical knowledge. Administers standardized testing and records results for OT diagnoses. Provides comprehensive therapeutic interventions for all age groups within the scope of practice. Rotates through treatment areas/facilities as needed. Supervises clinical support staff per the Occupational Therapy Practice Acts. Completes necessary charge/statistical information accurately. Schedules to maintain productivity standards and provides feedback to supervisors on department performance and emergencies.
