Duties Description The New York State Senate Minority Conference is seeking applicants to fill the position of Counsel. Counsel will work as part of a team on behalf of the Senate Republican Leader, Senators, and relevant central and member staff to research and review legislation, policy proposals, and laws.In this dynamic role, you will:•Provide legal, policy and budget analysis for the Senate Republican Conference; •Track committees and legislation active in the state Senate and state Assembly;•Conduct legal and policy-related research;•Prepare materials and briefing Senators and staff on legislation, policy initiatives, and regulatory changes;•Assist Senators in preparation for public hearings, roundtable discussions, forums and other public meetings and events; •Work with Albany and statewide staff to assist Senators in drafting and analyzing legislation and policy; •Meet with and build relationships with relevant stakeholders, advocacy, and constituency groups; and•Additional responsibilities as assigned.
