As a Counselor, you'll be responsible for assisting individuals with mental health and/or substance use disorders in accordance with their treatment plans. Your primary focus will be on helping clients improve their ability to perform daily living tasks and enhance their functioning in educational and work environments. You'll conduct assessments, develop personalized treatment plans, facilitate counseling sessions, and work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to support client recovery.

Conduct comprehensive intake assessments and screenings within designated timeframesDevelop individualized treatment plans aligned with state and agency standardsFacilitate individual and group counseling sessions focused on recovery and improved functioningCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic client careDocument all services provided in accordance with regulatory and agency requirementsManage caseload effectively, ensuring timely completion of all required documentationAssist clients through the transition process, including completion of transition summaries and plansHandle crisis situations as they arise, demonstrating strong problem-solving skillsRepresent the agency professionally within the community and maintain positive relationships with referral sourcesParticipate in ongoing professional development and training to enhance clinical skillsAdhere to ethical standards and agency policies in all aspects of workEducation and/or Experience Qualifications:
Hold credentials as a Qualified Addiction Professional as defined by the Missouri Credentialing Board, Inc. (MCB)Experience in mental health and substance use disorder treatment preferredRequired License/Certification:
Missouri: Certified Alcohol Drug Counselor (CADC), Certified Reciprocal Alcohol Drug Counselor (CRADC), Certified Reciprocal Advanced Alcohol Drug Counselor (CRAADC), Registered Alcohol Drug Counselor (RADC), Certified Criminal Justice Addictions Professional (CCJP), or Credential of Co-OccurringAdditional Qualifications:
Valid driver's license in state of residency requiredWillingness to become licensed in additional statesComfort with providing telehealth servicesStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work effectively with diverse client populationsProficiency in crisis management and de-escalation techniquesMust complete New Hire Orientation within 30 days of employmentMust obtain First Aid and CPR certifications within 3 months of employmentMust complete Behavioral Management training (Peaceful Intervention or Verbal De-escalation) within 30 days of employment or at first available classKeywords: counselor, addiction, mental health, substance use disorder, recovery, treatment, therapy, behavioral health, telehealth, Missouri
