Leidos is hiring a Counter WMD Systems Engineer with an active Top Secret clearance to support the development of intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance tools to counter threats from weapons of mass destruction.
Our team develops novel tools using cutting edge technologies to leverage nontraditional sensing modalities. We develop tools from advanced concepts, through laboratory and field testing until transition to military organizations for advanced development and fielding.
Successful performance demands sensitivity to the needs of both the client and the operational customers, thorough analysis of system specifications and linkage to function, detailed understanding of relevant test and
demonstration requirements, and technical competence in relevant disciplines.
Primary Responsibilities
Communicating with the client program manager (the customer ultimately seeking to use a particular technology) and the scientific/technical organization developing that technology.
This work can include translating functional needs into technical specifications; interpreting/designing functional tests; presenting/validating technical results and developing technical criteria for transition of technologies to end users as well as seeking novel applications or end-users for counter-WMD technologies in development.
Basic Qualifications
Active TS clearance with SCI eligibility. Candidates who do not possess an active TS clearance will not be considered.
BS in Science or Engineering field with 4+ yrs supporting national security projects
4+ yrs of relevant System Engineering experience
Experience as Developer, Researcher or End User with technologies designed to counter Weapons of Mass Destruction
Understanding of DoD Acquisition processes and the “Systems Engineering V” relating requirements to specifications
Ability to professionally collaborate with diverse clients across the national security and intelligence communities; experience briefing clients with and without deep technical knowledge
Availability to travel 25-33%
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with design techniques including any of circuit analysis and design, programming and debugging, or machining and manufacture
Experience with novel technologies of interest to the DoD such as AI/ML, additive manufacture, space-based communications, or synthetic biology
Experience with advanced WMD sensing methodologies such as acoustics, hyperspectral imaging, or standoff chemical detection.

Pay Range:Pay Range $85,150.00 - $153,925.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
