Job Description
Country Medical Lead (m/f/d) Germany, Kite, Cell Therapy
This position reports to the Executive Director, Head of ACE Medical Affairs, and is a member of the ACE Medical Affairs Leadership Team
Key Responsibilities:
Leads, manages, and develops the German Kite Medical Affairs Team, which includes the headquarters team, and an MS Lead, who manages a team of field based Medical Scientists (MS)Leads and coordinates the Medical Affairs strategy and tactics for Cell Therapy products in Germany, in alignment to the Kite ACE and Global Medical Affairs company's core strategyDevelops and oversees the German medical strategy, including innovative tactics, real world data generation, study concepts and proposals, and ensure that clinical data are available to support value proposition and development of treatment guidelines when appropriateManages budget HC & Opex for the Kite Germany medical teamWorks collaboratively with Kite-Gilead personnel in Sales, Marketing, Market Access, Clinical Research, Global Safety, Public Affairs and Governmental Affairs in Germany, but also at regional or global levels when appropriateWorks collaboratively with the Gilead Germany Medical Affairs Director and team, to ensure the right collaboration between Kite and Gilead in Germany, and to properly evaluate performance of the Kite Medical Affairs teamsPresents scientific and clinical data for Kite products, commercially available or in development, when required, utilizes approved scientific resources to deliver impactful and tailored presentations in a variety of different settingsIdentifies and develops regional and national opinion leaders to support Kite products and trains Kite approved speakers through personal contacts and on-site visitsDevelops team capabilities to support long-term relationships with scientific customersEstablishes strong relationships with opinion leaders, clinical investigators and providers at academic and non-academic centers and drives customer-driven solutionsCollaborates with Kite-Gilead Clin Dev and Clin Ops personnel and investigators to assist and facilitate the execution of clinical trials in GermanyAnticipates obstacles and difficulties that may arise in the field and resolves them in a collaborative mannerTravels to appointments, meetings, and conferences on a frequent and regular basis, occasionally with short noticeDrives a culture of high performance, collaboration, continuous improvement and accountabilityYour Profile
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following qualifications:
Education
Advanced degree: MD, PharmDKnowledge and Experience
Extensive expertise & experience in haematology/oncology is required, in lymphoma/myeloma and cell therapy is preferredPrevious industry and medical affairs experience in haematology/oncology is required, preferably in haematology and in Cell Therapy
Ideally current & existing partnership with the main opinion leaders in lymphoma and myeloma in GermanyExperience in people leadership/management of staff is requiredExperience in the management of or involvement in clinical trials is highly desirablePersonal skills
Ability to adapt in a constantly evolving environmentSelf-motivated with a strong sense of ownership in areas of responsibilityExcellent verbal and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills are requiredMust be fully cognizant of all relevant scientific data and regulatory requirements for field-based personnelMust be committed to continuing education to maintain knowledge baseSeeks for advice and collaboration within and outside KiteMust have the ability to work as a member of several teams that may overlap such as national MS team, regional sales team, national accounts, and othersEnjoys working in a fast pace entrepreneurial environmentStrong appetite for cross functional and team workProven ability to lead, develop and empower teams in changing environmentsAs we extend our global reach, we need leaders interested in change, in challenge, and in building a new future together.
