**Job Overview**
**PURPOSE AND PERFORMANCE GOALS**
Reports to Country Store Manager on managing all facets of the store including the scheduling, staff supervision, ordering inventory and day-to-day operations. Ensures customer satisfaction while maximizing facility revenue and profitability.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):
+ Assists manager in controlling costs including but not limited to manpower, productivity, and cost of sales.
+ Maintains proper sanitation and that consistent high-quality bakery and deli operations are maintained.
+ Observes sales flow and makes adjustments in order to adhere to cost control and quality procedures. Ensures store items are adequately stocked, orders items as needed.
+ Initiates proper receiving, storage, and stocking of store items. Maintains proper storage and rotation of food products in compliance with health department regulations.
+ Ensures policies and procedures for the Country Store, including compliance of all company standards relating to quality of products and services are followed.
+ Maintains Yellow Dog Inventory software, inputting invoices, transfer of merchandise to other departments. Performs monthly Inventory.
+ Answers customer questions and resolves problems in a timely and professional manner.
+ Inspects facility to identify any maintenance, repair, or clean up needs. Reports any maintenance needs to the Maintenance department.
+ Assists in the management of department members that may include, but is not limited to: Store Attendant, Stock Attendant, and Store Supervisor.
+ Implements effective orientation and training are given to each new associate. Assists in developing ongoing training programs.
+ Assists in monitoring business volume forecast and plans accordingly in areas of manpower, productivity, costs and other expenses.
+ Implements and maintains excellent service to achieve guest satisfaction.
+ Communicates any changes or new policies and procedures to the department.
+ Attends staff meetings. Also conducts staff meetings with subordinates.
+ Maintains flexibility to take on new and different tasks as directed by the Department Manager.
+ Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
**SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES**
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
**QUALIFICATIONS**

**EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE**
Associate’s degree (AA); or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience managing personnel.
**LANGUAGE SKILLS**
Must be able to communicate clearly with guests, customers, supervisors, and fellow employees.
**MATHEMATICAL SKILLS**
Must be able to calculate amounts and apply basic addition, subtraction and multiplication.
**REASONING ABILITY**
Must be able to analyze routine data to make appropriate judgments regarding the process of guests checking out of the store.
**CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS**
+ Sanitation training
+ BASSET – Beverage Alcohol Seller and Server certificate
+ Valid Driver’s License
+ Illinois UST Class A/B Operator Training for the dispensing of gasoline.
**PHYSICAL DEMANDS**

**HOURS**
Due to the business demands of the hospitality industry, and the fact that the Resort provides guest services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, any employee may be required to work rotating shifts, including weekends, night shifts, and/or overtime. Also, depending on business demands, hours may be reduced at any time.
