Courier/Laboratory Assistant

Job Summary Obtain specimens from patients for laboratory procedures. Processes specimens for analysis, storage and reference lab testing. Instructs patients and other personnel on the proper procedure for specimen collection, labels, storage documentation, billing, and transport requirements. Transports specimens to facility. Position will visit ACC, Moore, Porter, and Norman Regional 9 lab locations as well as visiting Outreach Clients in the OKC, Moore, Norman, and surrounding areas ***Drivers must be a minimum of 20 years old to operate NRHS owned or leased vehicles Qualifications Education High school education or equivalent GED required. Requires some knowledge of medical terminology and skill in use of computers including word processing. Experience Requires three months customer service experience, or experience working as a certified phlebotomist (32 hours of completed clinical rotation required), or 6 months experience in a medical field providing patient care, which includes drawing blood. (Above requirements can be met by the equivalent combination of education and experience). Licensure / Certification Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment. MUST have valid driver's license and 2 points or less on your MVR Compensation/Benefits $14.29-$23.34/hr depending on previous work experience.
