Position classification Onsite -- Job duties and expectations require employee to be regularly scheduled onsite. + Description + Benefits + Questions What Success Looks Like In This Job Under general direction, the Vital Records Courier performs technical tasks related to courier services, birth and death issuance and vehicle maintenance. This role involves scheduled delivery and collection of vital records such as birth and death certificates and chain of custody documents to and from funeral homes, mortuaries, other locations as needed and various Vital Record offices. Examples of Duties for Success Essential Duties: + Coordinate and establish schedules for courier services specific to funeral homes, mortuaries and other locations. + Monitor and manage the transport of vital records, ensuring their security and integrity during transit. + Basic budgeting principles; Supports the Manager with billing for AR accounts to funeral homes and other customers + Creates daily deposits for Vital Records + Monitors and controls birth/death certificate orders and supplies while in transit status. + Prepares documents and creates and maintains logs for courier responsibilities. + Reviews documents and customer orders for accuracy + Reviews needs of the courier position with appropriate management staff. + Maintain and update logistical and maintenance records and perform vehicle inspections pre- and post-route. + Maintains and updates forms and records as needed, prepares reports and tracking information. + Respond to inquiries, investigate complaints related to courier services, and suggest corrective actions. + Provide courier services for multiple divisions within the Adams County Health Department supply chain. + Act as a backup Deputy Registrar as needed. Additional Duties: + Support public health emergencies, participate in preparedness drills, and complete necessary training. + Maintain sensitive and confidential client information according to HIPAA policy. + Performs other duties as assigned and required. Qualifications for Success + Ability to work independently with little or no supervision and independent thought in designing routes. Work with customers outside of the workplace in handling multiple different types of customer interactions and questions. Problem solves issues for deliveries, contacting customers, processing of orders, interactions with customers. + Fundamental/Intermediate understanding of vehicle maintenance, safety management, and transportation regulations. + Office procedures, methods and equipment including proficient in computers and applicable software applications such as the Microsoft Office suite including Word and Excel. + Demonstrate tact and diplomacy with the staff and public to include excellent customer service skills. + Capable of managing tasks efficiently and adapting to varying weather conditions during courier duties. + Maintains and updates forms and records as needed, prepares reports and tracking information. + Familiarity and good working knowledge of the Denver/Metro area and supporting roadways and use of GPS technology. More Qualifications for Success Education/Training:High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience:Preferred two (2) years of commercial driving and vehicle maintenance experience. Licenses/Certifications: + Possess or ability to obtain a valid Colorado Driver's License with proof of insurance; must obtain Deputy + Registrar certification within the first month of employment. Other qualifications: + Must pass criminal background check. + Must pass pre-employment test through Test Gorilla service. Working Conditions and Physical Requirements: + The role involves both indoor and outdoor work, frequent travel between offices, and exposure to variable weather conditions. + Requires physical ability to perform tasks such as walking, standing, lifting up to 35 pounds, and operating office equipment. + Requires ability to drive 120 – 180 miles per day, throughout the Denver/Metro area in an Adams County provided vehicle.
