Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Chemical Operator to operate chemical compounding equipment and ensure the correct chemical reactions. This role involves following specific batch sheets, documenting all activities, using measuring equipment to weigh raw materials, and handling regulated waste and hazardous materials safely.
ResponsibilitiesOperate chemical compounding equipment to create the correct chemical reactions.Follow specific batch sheets and document all corresponding information throughout daily activities.Use specific measuring equipment to weigh out raw materials to the correct proportions.Safely handle and properly dispose of regulated waste, wastewater, and hazardous materials.Perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division to ensure correct amounts and percentages of materials.Perform quality control checks on finished materials, in-process materials, and raw materials as needed.Essential SkillsExperience in batching, blending, and compounding.Ability to follow batch sheets, formulas, or ingredient lists.Ability to operate production equipment that requires more than just pushing a button.Understanding and adherence to strict SOPs, temperatures, and processes.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with blending, batching, and compounding.Familiarity with formula and batch sheets.Knowledge of raw materials, ingredients, and sanitation processes.Experience with Clean-in-Place (CIP) systems.Work Environment
The work environment is generally clean, but some areas can be dirty or hot due to the chemicals and furnaces used. Operators will work in hooded areas to handle hazardous materials. Comfort with hotter environments, dirtier areas, and hazardous materials is necessary. The team is small, with 12 to 15 members working across three shifts. This is a 3rd shift opening, with hours from 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. Sunday through Thursday. There is potential for overtime and weekend work, with an average of 40 to 45 hours per week. Initial training may occur on the 1st shift depending on personnel availability. Adherence to all safety processes, standards, and ISO regulations is mandatory. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.25 - $26.25/hr.
