POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Care Services plans, organizes, supports and trains / educates Resident Care Directors, Executive Directors and caregiving teams nationwide to achieve Century Park’s quality and financial objectives for Resident Care at each community in accordance with all laws, regulations and company standards. Ensures the highest quality of care is delivered to residents through quality clinical systems.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Works nationwide in communities (i.e., resident apartments, offices, common areas).Sits, stands, bends, lifts, pushes, pulls, stoops, walks and moves intermittently during working hours.Subject to frequent interruptions.Works beyond normal working hours, on weekends, and in other positions temporarily as necessary.Subject to falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc. throughout the working day.Subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents and families.Possible exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including exposure to AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Must have Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in nursing from accredited college.Must have an active RN license.Must have 3 years’ successful tenure as Nurse Manager in senior living.Must have 2 years’ multi-site experience.SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
Must be willing and able to travel overnight 70% to serve communities on-site (expectation is minimum 3.5 days of 5 days per week in communities).Must demonstrate excellent customer service and hospitality.Must work efficiently and effectively with little to no supervision.Must demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.Must be proficient with Windows, Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), Outlook and internet-based programs.Must enjoy serving seniors.Must remain calm in a crisis.Must protect confidential information. Must practice firm but fair treatment of staff and treat all associates respectfully.Must exercise appropriate independent judgment. Must be an effective trainer.Must have valid driver’s license with clean driving record.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.Must practice regular and predictable attendance.Must follow company policies including harassment, code of ethics, complaint procedures, safety, sanitation, confidentiality, dress code and resident rights. Must be able to lift, pull or transfer a minimum of 20 lbs.Must assist in the evacuation of residents. Must demonstrate company’s core character traits: trustworthy, respectful, responsible, fair, caring and citizenship.Must professionally represent Century Park at all times and meet company-wide objectives for resident care.Must effectively prepare communities for successful state surveys.Must improve resident satisfaction scores for resident care.Must establish and evaluate clinical systems for assisted living nationwide.Must raise standard of resident care company-wide.Must support communities to achieve quality and financial goals for resident care while remaining within budget.Must effectively train / educate and support Executive Directors and Resident Care Directors.
