What You Will Do:
The Central Program Office (CPO)/ Major Projects Group (MPG) Director opportunity is to lead a large complex undertaking to help a utility client process 3x in capital spend on infrastructure within 18-24 months. The CPO/MPG Director will help stand up and then lead 2 teams:
Capital Program Office (CPO) – developing the governance and policies for the new business modelMajor Projects Group (MPG) – oversight for project execution (construction of major electric and gas infrastructure across Generation, Transmission and Distribution. This includes overseeing a much larger volume of outsourced work from key EPC partners.This is a two (2) year engagement, and Guidehouse needs an experienced leader direct a large complex Major Projects Group (MPG) for capital deployment across generation, transmission, and distribution construction projects. The successful CPO/MPG Director candidate will need to demonstrate an understanding of engineering, construction, organizational change and can carry the gravitas to engage client executives successfully.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the establishment of a major projects group at a key clientServes as the key resource for executive management advisory on overall engagement health.Oversees planning, developing, issuing, and progress tracking of all assigned projects within the MPG from contract execution through commercial operation:Works with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction contractors to identify and resolve problems or issues related to design information, schedule, material deliveries, change management, safety, and quality.Manages escalated problems or issues.Owns commercial recovery process and close-out.Manages the application of quality and control procedures.Directs complex projects requiring global resources and multiple partnersManages broad and varied complex risk profileHiring and management of GH staff assigned to the MPG, including scaling the team up and down to match project demandLiaison across various client groups (Bus, HR, Energy Supply)What You Will Need:
US Citizen or US Permanent Resident status required based on nature of client engagementBachelor's degree in engineering12+ years of relevant utilities industry experience excluding internships, co-ops, fellowship, and graduate researchConstruction management experience for large multi-state projects in the United StatesComplex and large project management experience including supervising individuals, teams, and subcontractors in multiple locationsExcellent and concise communicator:Can effectively communicate around business needs and execution and engineering and constructionCan effectively engage and communicate with utility senior leadershipExecutive level gravitas and presenceAbility to travel 75%Ability to work onsite at Client Office location 4-5x week

The annual salary range for this position is $190,900.00-$286,300.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
