**Job Title: Crate Builder/Assembler**
**Job Description**
They will use tape measures, follow basic blueprints/drawings, and utilize table saws, chop saws, and all equipment used in woodworking experience to build crating units for shipping final products. Candidates must be flexible, as they may be moved to different departments and will be required to use hand tools, power tools, saws, silicone caulking guns, and work in the insulation area.
**Responsibilities**
+ Use tape measures and follow basic blueprints/drawings.
+ Operate table saws, chop saws, and woodworking equipment to build crating units.
+ Use hand tools, power tools, saws, and silicone caulking guns as needed.
+ Work in the insulation area and various departments as required.
+ Ensure precision and attention to detail when working with large pieces of glass and sheet metal.
+ Stand and walk for 8-hour shifts while assembling units.
+ Meet overall and daily production goals for respective departments and assembly lines.
+ Retrieve materials and conduct unit testing in the yard as needed.
+ Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean working environment.
**Essential Skills**
+ Mechanical aptitude and ability to proficiently read a tape measure.
+ Experience using hand and power tools.
+ Minimum of 6 months experience in an assembly role.
+ Ability to read blueprints and follow work instructions.
+ Carpentry and woodworking skills.
+ Familiarity with construction or home improvement.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Computer skills are a plus.
+ Flexibility to perform various tasks as needed.
+ Positive attitude, great listening skills, and a 'can do' approach to work.
+ Willingness to handle material handling or cleaning tasks if required.
**Work Environment**
The facility is non-climate controlled, with some loud machines and a busy manufacturing atmosphere. Product storage is both inside and outside, exposing material handlers to outdoor conditions. The team environment involves working with large pieces of glass, sheet metal, steel frames, and other materials. The standard shift is from 7 am to 3:30 pm, with mandatory overtime as needed. Candidates must be able to perform tasks such as pushing and pulling up to 50 lbs unassisted, stooping, reaching, climbing ladders, and using forklifts if experienced.
