SUMMARY
The Creative Copywriter will develop and craft marketing-focused, retail-driven, customer-facing copy for a variety of GameStop channels. This role is instrumental in delivering compelling consumer communication campaigns that align with GameStop’s brand and business objectives. Working closely with marketing, creative, and business teams, the Creative Copywriter ensures that all content maintains the brand’s voice and engages audiences across digital, social, print, and internal platforms.


This role requires a balance of strategic thinking, creative excellence, and attention to detail. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative environment, is passionate about storytelling, and can juggle multiple projects while consistently producing impactful, high-quality work.

This position will sit onsite in Grapevine, TX 5 days a week

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Create compelling, on-brand copy for a range of marketing initiatives, including digital ads, emails, product descriptions, social media posts, and promotional campaigns.Ensure all written content reflects GameStop’s brand voice and resonates with its target audience.Partner with creative, marketing, and business teams to develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns across multiple channels.Stay current with gaming industry trends, pop culture, and consumer behavior to inform copywriting strategies.Edit and proofread content for clarity, grammar, and alignment with brand guidelines.Contribute to brainstorming sessions, offering creative ideas to elevate marketing efforts.Manage multiple projects, balancing short-term deadlines with long-term strategic initiatives.Collaborate with external partners to ensure cohesive messaging across third-party platforms.Maintain strong internal relationships and demonstrate a team-oriented mindset, fostering collaboration and support across departments.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience acceptable.Minimum 3 years of professional copywriting experience, preferably within an agency or corporate marketing department. Experience in retail or consumer products a plus.Proven experience writing for various marketing channels, including web, email, social media, print, and digital advertising.Portfolio showcasing a range of writing styles and examples of successful marketing campaigns.

Strong command of marketing principles and the ability to craft copy that drives consumer engagement and conversions.Excellent editing and proofreading skills, with high attention to detail.A keen interest in video games, pop culture, and lifestyle trends, with the ability to incorporate these elements into relevant and authentic messaging.Strong organizational skills, able to prioritize tasks and meet multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Exceptional collaboration and communication skills, able to work effectively with cross-functional teams.Ability to accept feedback and implement revisions while maintaining a high standard of quality.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and familiarity with Mac OS Word.
