Creative Director, US Travel & Services, Brand Innovation Lab

As a Creative Director on Amazon’s Brand Innovation Lab team, you will lead teams in creating one-of-a-kind campaigns for a wide range of global Financial Services and Services brands (including GEICO, Santander, Allstate, Indeed, and TurboTax) from creative brief to launch. You’ll work with a team of art directors, copywriters, designers, strategists, solutions managers, creative technologists and content producers to create innovative work by coming up with ideas that connect advertisers’ brands to the Amazon canvas (across 45+ touchpoints including Alexa, Twitch, IMDb, Prime Video, Whole Foods). You’ll lead projects and own client relationships, focusing on creating work that benefits the end customer and pushes the creative envelope.
You’ll investigate Amazon/3P data to form insights that inspire high-level strategies and campaign frameworks that solve business needs for our Financial Services and Services advertising clients. You will think across Amazon platforms and beyond, manage complex projects, and create tailored content across channels driving the marketing objectives of clients. You will effectively communicate with key stakeholders and external media and creative agencies. You will work with senior leadership to create processes and establish best practices that drive creative and operational excellence. And finally, you will work towards preserving the team culture of collaboration, teamwork, innovation, inspiration, and foster positive internal and agency relationships.
Key job responsibilities
- Raise the bar on creative excellence across the Financial Services + Services work
- Define the creative strategy for multiple advertisers
- Use strategic research and/or data to develop campaign ideas
- Concept, pitch, design, and execute innovative ad campaigns and experiences for global brands, from developing the creative brief to launching the campaign
- Independently creative direct campaigns and collaborate with internal teams, clients, and external agency partners
- Direct creative disciplines outside your area of functional expertise and provide feedback in all stages of the creative development process
- Partner with and/or lead art directors, copywriters, designers, program managers, developers, and content producers to create customer-focused solutions that deliver on client objectives
- Creative direct and deliver high-quality visuals and design for campaigns across different Amazon touch-points
- Provide in-depth understanding of art-direction and copywriting for all formats—digital, print, out-of-home, video, and more
- Lead the creation of presentations; present ideas and concepts to clients, agencies, and internally
- Mentor and inspire other creatives
- Make creative trade-off decisions between teams, clients, and end-customer needs
- Measure and evaluate current processes within the department and improve them through documentation
A day in the life
- Partner with the Alexa team to create a campaign for a financial services brand
- Review and improve campaign ideas, scripts, and presentation decks
- Review video edits for an insurance client’s sponsorship of a new Prime Video series
- Present campaign pitches to brand clients and their media/creative agencies
- Work through creative messaging feedback with Legal and PR
- Write documentation to improve creative processes
